Originally from Virginia, Paten studied French and Theatre at Washington and Lee University and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She became an original member of The Old Vic New Voices Network, performing in London and New York.
Paten won critical acclaim and was nominated for a Connecticut Critics Circle Award for her portrayal of Catherine in Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge in a site-specific production on the New Haven waterfront for The Long Wharf Theatre in 2024. She is the star and co-creator of the hit web series Heirloom by Bekah Brunstetter, which streamed on Vimeo with over 4.5 million views before being licensed by Screen Media.
Theatre credits include: Chekhov’s Three Sisters directed by Olivier Award-Winner Eve Best, My Name is Rachel Corrie directed by Jaq Bessell, and Addressless with Rattlestick Theater Company.
Film credits include: Stolen Girl, What Breaks the Ice, Long Nights Short Mornings, Coach of the Year, and Beauty Mark. Upcoming: The Leader with Vera Farmiga and Tim Blake Nelson.
Paten is a member of AMiOS Theatre Company, a performer with Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Visible Ink Program, and the treasurer of the Paris-based arts organization The Arts Arena.
